Since 2006 I’ve been working on and expanding ideas to get music replay closer to the original recording. Day by day and product by product, it seems we’re achieving that.
The aim is and always been to identify the weakest link, the component that causes the most degradation.
When any component is compromising the performance of the system, it limits progress in every way. So to make real progress, I’ve been addressing the weakest links successively to bring the listener closer to what the artist, producer and mastering engineer wanted you to hear. Our collaboration with music industry engineers has also given us valuable insights into the art of cutting. This has enabled us to advance our record player design in many ways to extract the maximum from vinyl records.
Starting with the original Pulse Hand-built cable system, then the Reference Tonearm and the RG-1 Reference Groove record player all the way to the recently introduced ‘plug and play’ DG-1 Dynamic Groove record player, it has been a journey of challenges. The rewards; from every one of our reference products we’ve learnt so much that has led to designing a series of innovative ‘entry’ level products all the way up to our pinnacle reference series.
And what’s more; as we can never get to perfection, the next challenge is always just around the corner.
